What is hypnosis?


Hypnosis is the process of going into a state of deep relaxation (almost like a trance) and being given suggestions while in that state. There's nothing new about it, in fact there's evidence many cultures have used similar techniques for thousands of years.

These days it's usually called hypnotherapy and is used to treat conditions including anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, addiction, sleep problems and weight problems by changing ways of thinking and behaviour.

Despite some perceptions (not helped by trashy TV shows) the person being hypnotised is completely in control. Hypnosis can't make people do things against their will nor can it force them into a hypnotic state if they aren't agreeable to it. It's a voluntary state.

Unhappy relationships with food affect our life in such a huge and life altering way that we are often not aware of.  Our Mind and body are 100% linked together, an unhealthy mind can give you an unhealthy body and vice versa. If we can reach a point where our mind and our body are happy, healthy and functioning the way they are designed, I guarantee you will feel ALIVE like you have never before! 

Can hypnosis really help with weight loss and health?

Hypnosis can work well for clients seeking help with weight loss and health.  Weight loss is complex and people's motivations and triggers for eating or overeating can be very different. That's where a hypnotherapist will work with the client to work out where their issues lie." Just like not one diet fitting everyone, hypnotherapy treatment is unique to each client to meet his or her needs. 

There are many reasons for weight gain, from stress to poor diet, and eating for comfort or loneliness. Sometimes you gain weight even when you think you are eating the right foods at the right times.

Hypnosis can help you overcome the emotional causes for weight gain, and begin to crave sensible, healthy foods and exercise that will reduce your weight in a safe and easy way.

You will easily and automatically control what you eat, when you eat, and how much you eat, and your self confidence and self esteem will improve so that “comfort eating” is a thing of the past.
