Is The Struggle To Get Pregnant Taking Over Your Life?

Astrid has studied and is a certified HypnoFertility® Practitioner in the programme developed by Lynsi Eastburn, Board Certified psychotherapist and hypnosis specialist in Colorado.

The mind is a very powerful tool, and during your hypnosis sessions Astrid works with you to help align conscious and subconscious aspects of your mind.

Is an intense desire to build a family always on your mind?

your private fertility efforts—charting your cycle, timed intercourse, managing medications, countless doctor’s appointments, etc.—a constant reminder of your struggle? Do you feel overwhelmed by intense social pressure to get pregnant as your day is flooded with well-intended (but often bad or insensitive) advice from friends, family, and even the media?

You may have tried everything you can think of to get pregnant. Perhaps you have a medical diagnosis, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), low AMH, endometriosis, or a hormone imbalance, but fertility drugs, surgeries, or other treatments have all failed to help. It may be that you have been to several fertility clinics, had multiple workups, spent thousands of dollars on surgeries or medications or in vitro fertilisation (IVF)  and/or countless other medical treatments, only to walk away empty-handed.

On the other hand, you may be at a loss as to what is causing your infertility. With no clear medical course of action available to you, you may have tried a variety of natural remedies and techniques to get pregnant without success. The frustration and envy you may feel upon receiving yet another friend’s birth announcement may have you wondering whether something is wrong with you.

Do you wish someone could help you understand why you aren’t getting pregnant and what you can do to improve your body’s receptivity to fertility treatments?

Infertility Is Not
Your Fault
Pregnant Woman in Nature

Doctors, friends, and family may have encouraged you to “just relax” and let things happen naturally. Each time you fail to conceive, though, you find yourself becoming more and more upset. As a result, you may chastise yourself for not being calmer, or having too much stress, or being too busy, or countless other things—real or imagined—which send you into a downward spiral of stress and guilt. You may even have started to believe that you are “broken”—that your infertility is somehow your fault.

You are not broken, and infertility is not your fault. But feelings of shame or guilt—even when you know they are irrational—can make it hard to open up to friends or family. And the belief that you are the only person struggling with infertility can leave you feeling isolated even from your partner. In truth, many women, even those who are young and otherwise healthy, struggle with infertility. Nearly

12 percent of Australian women between the ages of 20 and 44 have struggled to get pregnant

Women frequently receive messages of infertility—from the media, family members, friends, and even their doctors. And those messages can have a hypnotic effect that blocks fertility. In the same way that negative subconscious messages can block fertility, empowering messages delivered through hypnosis can release subconscious blocks that are often a factor in “unexplained infertility.”

If you’ve tried for years to get pregnant without success, you may feel as though your options have run out. By giving up now, though, you would miss out on a remarkable treatment with the potential to not only increase your chances of getting pregnant, but also help you deal with the stress, depression, and other difficult emotions you’ve been experiencing.

Hypnosis For
Fertility Success

Stress and infertility are closely linked. When the sympathetic nervous system is triggered by a stressful situation, our “fight or flight” response is triggered. This tells the body to focus on the bodily systems that are critical for survival, such as our sensory organs (eyes, ears, etc.). At the same time, the body de-prioritises the distribution of resources to less essential systems, like digestion and reproduction (ever wonder why stress leads to indigestion?).

Throughout most of human history, this stress response aided our survival. Threats typically came about suddenly and resolved quickly. Today’s stressors, however, including the long ordeal of trying to get pregnant, tend to last much longer. When the stress response is prolonged, many ailments such as high blood pressure, headaches, ulcers, and infertility can result. Hypnosis is the antithesis of stress. Fertility hypnosis instantaneously activates the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as “rest and digest” or “feed and breed,” which triggers a series of responses in the body that promote healing, digestion, and reproduction.

Hypnosis doesn’t just help you relax in the moment; it teaches you how to relax, which leads to a much lower stress response overall. So how can hypnosis work when so many other relaxation techniques fail? If you’ve tried mindfulness therapies like meditation, you may have found that it can be difficult to quiet your mind. On the other hand, hypnotherapy is a direct route to the subconscious, and you don’t have to be relaxed to benefit from conception hypnosis (though most people find the experience quite calming). Therapeutic hypnosis helps you root out and release subconscious fears that may be preventing you from becoming pregnant and replace them with empowering messages that allow you to move beyond fear and into fertility.

For many women, the feeling that no one understands what they are going through contributes greatly to their anxiety and depression. In addition to the proven benefits of fertility hypnosis, our work together gives you the opportunity to be heard and validated in a safe environment, so you can release feelings of self-doubt and work through stress without fear of judgment.

One of the most frustrating things about trying to get pregnant is that some factors are outside of your control. In our work together, we help you learn how to focus on the things you can do to increase your chances of getting pregnant, instead of dwelling on the things you can’t change. For example, more than 80 percent of women ovulate between midnight and 8 am, and missing sleep can have a negative effect on fertility. While fertility hypnosis may not change when you ovulate, it can improve the quantity and quality of sleep. And with a little guidance and support, you can introduce new, healthy fertility-enhancing behaviours. Hypnosis helps you tap into your deep inner voice, vision, and knowing, so you can make important (and sometimes difficult) decisions—such as which direction to take or which fertility treatments or practitioners are right for you—with clarity and greater confidence.

At Mind Body Alive & The Dunsborough Health Hub, we understand that in daily life women struggling with fertility issues are often triggered by things like seeing a pregnant woman, hearing a crying baby in a restaurant, pregnancy posts on social media, and the like. Fertility hypnosis is able to diminish the unpleasant effects of such experiences, and even utilise them to your benefit. We will also provide you with resources, including take-home hypnosis recordings that you can use to maintain a sense of calm and reduce feelings of overwhelm between sessions.

Hypnosis can greatly increase your chances of getting pregnant, while simultaneously reducing your reliance on a positive pregnancy test to make you happy.

Is Fertility Hypnotherapy Safe To Use Alongside Other Treatments?

Conception hypnosis is not contraindicated with any other fertility treatments. It can increase your chances of conceiving whether you have identified an underlying medical problem or not. Whether you have unexplained infertility, PCOS, hormone imbalances, or another issue, fertility hypnosis complements what you’re already doing.

Is Hypnosis Really Worth The Investment?

The cost of hypnosis is minor when compared to most other forms of fertility treatment. For a relatively small investment, we provide a personalised level of care most doctors are too overextended to provide. We cant deny the track record of hypnotherapy success in cases where medical interventions have failed. Investing in hypnotherapy gives you access to a compassionate professional who is willing to listen closely to your personal goals and struggles, and tailor a protocol that is specific to your personal circumstances and needs. And we offer 12-session packages if you want to minimise the cost per session.

How Many Sessions Do I Need To Attend?

Infertility is an extremely challenging issue that is truly on par with catastrophic illness. For this reason, whether there is a medical diagnosis or not, the emotional aspect is always present.  Fertility research have shown that most people require about 12 hypnosis sessions to receive maximum benefit from the HypnoFertility® process.
